2007 Rollicking Red Blend – Horse Play Wines Santa Rosa California

Inspired by the free-spirited playfulness of wild horses among the world’s most magnificent and noble creatures Horse Play Wines engaged in a little horseplay of their own in the winery to create Rollicking Red. The 2007 vintage is their 3rd offering in the Horse Play line and was produced from choice grapes grown in Sonoma County and the Central Coast regions of Paso Robles and San Benito County. The outstanding 2007 growing season fostered intense, concentrated flavors in these grapes, greatly enhancing the quality of this robust, yet graceful red, which gained further complexity from five months’ aging in French and American oak. This Cabernet Sauvignon (44%), Merlot (39%), Syrah (17%) has bright aromas of cherries, currants, blackberries and vanilla which fill the nose, with subtle roasted and toasty oak tones adding a savory note. On the palate, rich cherry, cassis and spice flavors are plush and balanced, leading to a long, fruitful finish. Drink now through 2013.Enjoy Rollicking Red with grilled red meats, savory meat stews, succulent prime rib, roast chicken with garlic & herbs, rack of lamb, hearty pasta dishes and flavorful cheeses.
