Hudson Shah 2007 Petite Sirah (USA / Napa Valley California) was recently shipped to members of the West Coast Wine Club (from Cellars Wine Club). Wine Tasting Notes and Food Pairings for Hudson Shah 2007 Petite Sirah
Located in Washington State, Woodhouse Family Cellars is boutique winery passionate about crafting high quality wine. Their wines are released a bit later than most so that they have an opportunity to rest, integrate and show their fullest flavor complexities. The 2007 Petite Sirah is Woodhouse’s first wine made from California grapes. Winemakers Tom Campbell and Jean Claude Beck used their decades of expertise to create a Petite Sirah that is varietally correct with old world sensibility, complex and age-worthy. Made from 100% Napa Valley Petite Sirah the wine is a bright medium ruby in color. It has complex and enticing aromas and flavors of cherries, crushed dark berries, white pepper, wild herbs and flowers. It is a lush wine with a captivating sugar/acid balance and plenty of structure. Finishes with sweet, silky tannins and a lingering note of dark chocolate. This wine is perfect now and will age gracefully for another 2 years with proper storage. Pair with chocolate, roasted meats accompanied by fruit chutneys, braised meats, roasted vegetables and game.
